Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)

Government’s priority for utilisation of natural gas resources is targeted at the domestic market in the first instance and then export gas.

Subject to this policy the Government will be amenable to the pursuit of new LNG opportunities. In this context, Government in partnership with British Gas have undertaken the LNG Train X feasibility study. This partnership has as its objective Government’s involvement along the LNG value chain and in areas such as shipping, LNG marketing and liquefaction. The new "Train X" model for expansion will involve the inclusion of new stakeholders and increased participation by the State.
