and Energy Industries met with Mr. David Campbell, President bpTT; Mr. Ryan Chaitram,
Communications and External Affairs Manager bpTT; and Ms. Dana Nancoo-Ali, Business
Advisor to the bpTT President. The meeting took place on 27th May 2025, at the Ministry
of Energy and Energy Industries’ International Waterfront Complex, Head Office, Port-ofSpain.
At the meeting, the Honourable Minister Dr. Moonilal highlighted the Government’s vision for the energy sector and for the re-emergence of Trinidad and Tobago as the energy capital of the region in addition to working with stakeholders to increase production of the country’s hydrocarbon resources. The Honourable Minister received updates from bpTT on its operations in Trinidad and Tobago and recognised the strategies taken by the company to increase the competitiveness of existing operations while pursuing future developments.
bpTT acknowledged its longstanding presence as a major player in Trinidad and Tobago’s oil and gas sector and emphasised the importance of these operations to the company’s global portfolio. The company is committed to continuing to pursue opportunities in Trinidad and Tobago, to further develop the hydrocarbon resources of the country as well as the exploration of opportunities in the sustainable energy space.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI) and bpTT discussed and agreed on several areas of immediate collaboration that would be progressed to enhance the contribution of the company to the energy sector. Both Ministers gave their commitment on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries to continue to work with bpTT to ensure maximized production of our natural resources for the benefit of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
