Energy Minister Meets With Hungarian Ambassador

The Honourable Ernesto Kesar, Minister in the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, along with Deputy Permanent Secretary (Ag.) Marc Rudder and Ms. Sheena Gosine, Energy International Relations and Affairs Advisor to Minister welcomed His Excellency, Balázs Heincz, Ambassador of Hungary, during a courtesy call held on Thursday, November 5th, 2025, at the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries’ Head Office at the International Waterfront Centre, Port-of-Spain.
In efforts to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and Hungary, discussions focused on key areas for cooperation within the energy sector. Minister Kesar welcomed the opportunity for collaboration and reaffirmed that Trinidad and Tobago remains open for business.
The meeting identified several potential areas of mutual interest, including Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) development, Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS), and Solar Energy Deployment. Both parties agreed that these areas present significant opportunities for sustainable energy growth and technology exchange.
The session concluded with a mutual commitment to continue dialogue and work towards formalizing and deepening our commitment with further relevant instruments. The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries continues to engage with international partners to foster innovation, strengthen energy security, and enhance Trinidad and Tobago’s role in the global energy landscape.
