Dr. the Honourable Roodal Moonilal, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries along with Mrs. Penelope Bradshaw-Niles, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries; Ms. Karinsa Tulsie, Permanent Secretary (Ag.), Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries; and Mr. Marc Rudder, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Ag.), the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries met with Mr. Grégoire de Courcelles, General Manager, Perenco T&T Limited (Perenco); Mr. Allan Russell, Business Advisor, Perenco; and Mr. Stephen Awah, Administrative Manager, Perenco. The meeting took place on 27th May
2025 at the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries’ International Waterfront Complex,
Head Office, Port-of-Spain.
At the meeting, the Honourable Minister Dr. Moonilal highlighted the Government’s vision for the energy sector and for the re-emergence of Trinidad and Tobago as the energy capital of the region in addition to working with stakeholders to increase production of the country’s hydrocarbon resources. The Honourable Minister received updates from Perenco on its operations in Trinidad and Tobago and commended the company for the work that it has done in the country particularly in extending the life of
operating assets and for its expertise in unlocking potential from mature and marginal fields.
Perenco emphasised the importance of its Trinidad and Tobago operations to the company’s global portfolio and committed to continued focus and investment in the country. Perenco’s recent agreement with Woodside Energy with respect to the acquisition of the Greater Angostura assets as well as ongoing work in the TSP (Teak Samaan Poui) Block as well as the CAFI (Cashima, Amherstia, Flamboyant, Immortelle and Parang) fields demonstrate the company’s commitment to pursuit and production of
hydrocarbon resources in Trinidad and Tobago.
The Honourable Minister Dr. Moonilal gave his commitment on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries to continue to work with Perenco to ensure maximized production of our natural resources for the benefit of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
