Dr. the Honourable Roodal Moonilal, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, the Honourable Ernesto Kesar, Minister in the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, Ms. Karinsa Tulsie, Permanent Secretary (Ag.) and Mr. Marc Rudder, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Ag.), Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries met with executives from EOG Resources Limited on Monday 17th November, 2025 at the Ministry’s Head Office at the International Waterfront Complex, Port-of-Spain.
The EOG Resources delegation included Mr. Ezra Yacob, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Keith Trasko Senior Vice President, Exploration & Production; Mr. Michael Donaldson, Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer; Mr. Joe Korenek, Vice President and General Manager, International; and Mr. George Vieira, Vice President and Managing Director, EOG Resources Trinidad Limited.
During the meeting, Mr. Ezra Yacob, Chairman and CEO at EOG Resources reiterated the company’s long-term commitment to Trinidad and Tobago, demonstrated by significant presence and investment in the upstream sector. The company continues to focus steadily on the necessary actions required to increase oil and gas production in its operating assets.
Minister Moonilal reiterated the Government’s commitment to maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with upstream partners such as EOG Resources. He acknowledged the company’s consistent contributions to oil and gas production and encouraged the acceleration of initiatives that support production optimization, operational reliability, and long-term energy sector sustainability. The Minister emphasised the support of the Honourable Prime Minister, Mrs. Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC, MP in ensuring the prosperity of the energy sector. He further outlined her vision for improving the ease of doing business in the sector and informed the company of definitive actions being taken by the Government to achieve this.
Both the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries and EOG Resources expressed a shared interest in deepening cooperation as work progresses. The parties underscored the importance of continued alignment to advance Trinidad and Tobago’s hydrocarbon development agenda, enhance value creation, and support the country’s broader energy objectives.
