Minister Young Meets With DeNovo

The Honourable Stuart R. Young SC, MP, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, along with Ms. Sandra Fraser, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, met with DeNovo Energy Limited executives at the at the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries’, International Waterfront Complex Head-Office, on 9th July, 2024.

The DeNovo Energy Limited executives present at the meeting were, Mr. Bryan Ramsumair, Managing Director and Mr. Kris Sookdeo, Commercial Manager, DeNovo Energy Limited.

Having invested in the Iguana and Zandolie projects, the DeNovo Energy Limited executives expressed interest in further investments into Trinidad and Tobago’s energy sector. The DeNovo executives discussed specific projects that they wish to pursue to increase upstream gas production and Minister Young encouraged them to prioritize these efforts.

The Zandolie project is notable for its 100% renewable-powered platform and the maximization of local content for construction and drilling. The DeNovo executives expressed that future projects would incorporate similar sustainable and responsible energy practices as guided by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Minister Young commended the organization for its focus on monetizing proven natural gas reserves in a safe and sustainable way to provide the necessary energy from hydrocarbons for the benefit of the citizens of  Trinidad and Tobago.
