Minister Young’s Feature Address at the Public Opening Ceremony of the Tobago CNC Station

The Honourable Stuart R. Young, MP, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries delivered the feature address at the public opening ceremony of the Tobago CNC Station at the Cove Eco Industrial and Business Park, Tobago.

Minister Young stated that the successful commissioning of these CNG fuel pumps signals the incorporation of the nation’s CNG supply network into the ecosystem at the Cove Eco Industrial and Business Park, which will further enable businesses cooperating within this area, to operate in an environmentally responsible manner.

The local CNG environment has evolved over the past ten (10) years, as the government has committed to accelerate and expand the use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a major alternative transport fuel within Trinidad and Tobago’s transport sector.

Also in attendance were Honourable Shamfa Cudjoe Lewis, Minister of Sport and Community Development; Honourable Ayanna Webster Roy, Minister in the office of the Prime Minister; The Honourable Farley Chavez Augustine, Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly; Senator The Honourable Richie Sookhai, Minister in the Ministry of Works and Transport; Senator The Honourable Lawrence Hislop; Secretaries of the Tobago House of Assembly; Minority Leader Mr Kelvon Morris; and Ms. Sandra Fraser, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries.
