On the 9th December, 2022, The Government of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT) and Consortium partners bp Alternative Energy Trinidad and Tobago (bpATT), Shell Renewables Caribbean (Shell), and Lightsource bp, signed agreements for the Utility Scale Solar PV Project at the bpTT Hospitality Suite, Queen’s Park Oval.

The Solar PV Project is set to be the first utility scale renewable power generation facility within Trinidad and Tobago, set to deliver 112.2MW onto the grid. The arrival to this point is a testimony of the Government’s steadfast commitment to decarbonizing the power sector and represents an energy milestone as we create a new energy mix to meet Trinidad and Tobago’s future energy needs. These agreements will pave the way for the project to move into the construction phase in early 2023.
