The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries wishes to inform that, this morning, around 8:30 am, a barge called the Liftboat Daniela owned by Trinity Liftboat Services Limited which was located in the Heritage Petroleum Company Limited’s (HPCL’s) North Field, Gulf of Paria at about 10 50.5 N 061 52.367 W was apparently attempting to demobilize from its location. However, in the process of demobilizing the barge capsized and sank to the seafloor. Six (6) persons were on board at the time of the incident and all were removed and accounted for. At the time, the barge was not contracted by HPCL.
