On 22nd December 2024, the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI) received reports of an incident at Rig 110, an asset owned and operated by Well Services Limited, which was located within the Heritage Offshore East Field.
Line Minister Honourable Stuart R. Young S.C. M.P. Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister visited the Trinmar Marine Base to receive in-person briefings on the ongoing incident management.
Since the incident was reported, the MEEI has remained fully engaged in assisting both Well Services and Heritage.
Whilst at the Trinmar base, Minister Young also met with family members of Mr Pete Phillip the Well Services Limited worker who has not yet been located. Minister Young offered his prayers and words of support to the family members present at this difficult time.
The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries will be appointing a team to conduct a detailed investigation of the incident and to prepare and submit a comprehensive report of the findings of the investigation.
The MEEI has a team that is currently on the ground monitoring the response operations. Also on site are teams attached to OSHA, Well Services Limited and Heritage Petroleum Company Limited.
