On Thursday 22nd December 2022,
the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI) through its State Enterprise, National Energy, officially handed over more than 1000 Steel Sheet Piles to the Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT). The initiative was the product of a collaborative effort amongst all parties and would facilitate the transfer of the material from National Energy’s Couva facility to various locations throughout Trinidad.
These sheet piles will be used for the restoration of major roads and critical infrastructure where landslips
have affected connectivity and access. The material will assist with the construction of retaining walls and
permanent repairs of landslips along Trinidad’s Main Road Network
