My condolences to the family and to all of us who would have had our lives impacted by the work of Mr. Khan. Hopefully the foundations laid by his tireless devotion to national service would be built on to continue the legacy of national service he was a part of.

It is with deep sadness that I received the passing of the Honourable Minister Franklyn Khan. I have known him from his childhood days as I grew up in Mayaro where I was born. He never passed me without a greeting. Sincere condolences to his family. He was a patriot. May he rest in eternal peace.

Frankie as I called him ,was a country boy with a passion to make a difference to his country. It is a space and a place that we shared for many years.He had a passion for election campaigns and he fought each for what he believed to be a better society.While working on the present he had a view of the future which he worked towards creating.He represents what is possible despite the challenges that you may meet on your journey. I salute his courage and thank him for his contributions. Minister Khan's approachability and humility will be missed, as well as his balanced demeanour and straightforward approach to things. His belief in the importance of preparing the energy sector for the future, was also very valuable, and was a strength that Trinidad and Tobago will benefit from, as the years to come will attest to.
