I wish to express my deepest regrets and sincere condolences at the loss of Minister Khan, who I have worked with over the last three years in my capacity as Permanent Secretary. He was a sincere and kind leader with a passion for people and his country. His drive for results in the work place was appropriately seasoned with a sense of humour and a love for story telling. His dedication to his family was evident in my daily discussions with him. May God comfort his wife and loved ones during this difficult time. He will be dearly missed.

I extend condolences on behalf of my family and I to the family, relatives and friends of former Minister of Energy, Mr. Franklin Khan. I have a few fond memories of Mr. Khan from our attendance at an annual dinner and a few days of conference in Jamaica as guests of the Master Builders Association of Jamaica. He was Minister of Works and Transport then and I was President of the Trinidad & Tobago Contractors Association. We also had a few meetings here at home at the Cabinet Appointed Construction Oversight Committee; his general approach to issues was always with optimism and positivity. Rest In Peace Eternal dear sir.

My condolences go out to the late Senator Khan’s family and friends, and to my colleagues at the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries. I last chatted with Senator Khan during our trip to Venezuela for the signing of the Dragon Field Gas Agreement in 2018. Like all of us here, I too was saddened to learn of his untimely passing. Trinidad and Tobago has lost a true patriot and a champion of the Energy Industry.
